&bull;  Mrs. Bertha Peters, 74, wife of John E. Peters of 508 E. Third Street, died May 25 at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital after a long illness.  Funeral services were conducted Monday forenoon at the Walton Mennonite Church with Rev. James F. Conway, pastor of the Newton Bible Church, officiating.  The Peters family lived near Peabody for a number of years, moving to Newton in 1953.  Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, three sons, two sisters, two brothers, 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
