(MRS.) ANNA HARMS
(Mrs.) Anna Harms was born August 16, 1893 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. The family moved to the Brotherfield, Saskatchewan, area in 1899. She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour during revival meetings with Elder Heinrich Voth, and was baptized and accepted into the Brotherfield Mennonite Brethren Church while a teenager.
She married Arnold Harms on October 12, 1917; the couple was blessed with three sons and four daughters. In 1935 they moved to Glenbush, Sask., where they were active in the Mennonite Brethren church and enjoyed the fellowship. Her husband predeceased her in 1969. Mrs. Harms' health had been failing over the past few years, although she was still able to do handwork until recently. She especially enjoyed family visits, often requesting that they sing her favorite song, "Keiner Wird Zu Schanden" (Lord, thou ne'er Forsakest).
She entered the North Battleford Union Hospital for the final time on December 8, and peacefully went to be with the Lord on December 23. A funeral service was held December 28 at the North Battleford Church, and Rev. Abe Pauls and Rev. Isaac Bergen brought the messages.
She leaves to mourn, but not without hope, three sons and their wives, Walter and Agatha, Leonard and Mary, and Reuben and Sarah, all of Saskatchewan; four daughters, Viola (Mrs. Jake) Bargen of Clearbrook, B.C., and Gladys (Mrs. Abe) Klassen, Laurena (Mrs. David) Bergen of Hepburn, and Myrtle, of Saskatchewan; five brothers, 37 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
