AGNES FLAMING HEIBERT

Mrs. Agnes Flaming Hiebert, daughter of Isaac F. and Katharina Martins Wiens, was born on March 2, 1886 at Buhler, Kan. Here she received her Savior and Lord and was baptized on Aug. 3, 1903 by the Rev. Abraham Schellenberg and joined the Ebenezer church, which was then near Buhler.

She received her education at Buhler and Inman and spent two years at McPherson College.

In 1904 she moved with her parents to Hooker, Okla. where she taught school for two years. In 109-7 she was married to P. P. Flaming. When the first World War broke out they moved to Buhler.

In 1920 they moved to Reedley, Calif. Here she taught daily vacation Bible school for 12 years and did Red Cross and welfare work. In 1939 her husband died, leaving her with a son Wilbur Flaming and his wife Kathryn. She went to live with her sister in Los Angeles.

In 1949 she was married to J. J. Hiebert of Dinuba, Calif., where they shared joys and sorrows for nearly 12 years.

She became ill about two and one-half years ago with a heart ailment, but in spite of her weakened condition she managed to take care of her household duties. About two months ago she had a severe attack and was taken to the hospital for about 30 days. She improved enough so she could return to her home, where her sister Anna, a registered nurse, cared for her a little more than two weeks. She was seemingly gaining strength. While baking cookies Friday morning, Dec. 3, she went to be with her Savior.

She attained the age of 74 years and nine months.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Jacob j. Hiebert, one son, Wilbur Flaming and wife Kathryn of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Anna Wiens of Los Angeles; one brother, Sam Wiens and wife Sarah of Fresno; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Eunice Wiens of Tulsa, Okla.

Also surviving are Mr. Hiebert's two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Smith and her family of Fresno and Mrs. Hulda Langhofer and family of Dinuba; D. H. Hiebert and family of Fresno and Dr. Irwin Hiebert and family of O'Fallon, Ill. as well as many other relatives and friends.
