Carl O. Basinger, 51, son of Rev. Elmer and Caroline (Schumacher) Basinger, died suddenly on March 4, 1972 in Milwaukee, Wis.
He was a graduate of McKendree College, Chicago Theological Seminary and the University of Chicago.  In 1945 he was ordained in the Congregational Christian Fellowship.
He served Congregational churches in Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, and Tennessee.  His last pastorate was the Summerfield, Ill. Mennonite Church, which his father also served.  He was a member of the Summerfield Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his widow, Pauline Fechter Basinger, a son Paul, a student at the University of Iowa, and the following sisters and brother:  Gwen Geiger of Bethesda, Md., LaVerne E. of Quincy, Ill., Lynette Hirstein, of Golconda, Ill., Grace Ruth of Tulsa, Okla., and Joyce Fiedler of Morton, Ill.
Funeral services were held in Milwaukee, with a later memorial service in the Zion Mennonite Church and interment at Donnellson, Iowa.

REV. CARL O. BASINGER

Carl O. Basinger, 51, son of Rev. Elmer and Caroline (Schumacher) Basinger, died suddenly on March 4, 1972 in Milwaukee, Wis.

He was a graduate of McKendree College, Chicago Theological Seminary and the University of Chicago. In 1945 he was ordained in the Congregational Christian Fellowship.
