JOSEPH BESCH
Joseph Besch of Niagara Falls, Ontario, passed away on August 26, at the age of 40. He was born in Niagara Falls on December 13, 1934 and attended schools in Queenston and Stamford. In 1962 he accepted Christ as his Saviour and on August 11, 1962 he was baptized and received into the Niagara Christian Fellowship Chapel in rural Niagara-on-the-Lake. He served as choir member, Sunday school teacher and trustee. On July 20, 1963 he was married to Martha Klassen. This union was blessed with two sons, David Wayne, born on May 25, 1965 and Shawn Edward, born on May 21, 1968.
Five years ago Joe suffered a serious back injury at his place of work, General Motors, requiring several operations and causing much pain. It also forced him to give up a variety of activities. In May, 1975, he suffered a fall at his place of work which resulted in a clot on the brain which had to be surgically removed. Despite initial recovery, he showed signs of worsening again in August and eventually succumbed to a tumour of the brain. He was a thoughtful and loving husband and father and faithful and active member of the church. He leaves to mourn his wife and two sons; his mother, Mrs. Auna Besch; one sister, Mrs. Marvin Scott; and a host of relatives and friends.
