Review Correspondent Called by Death
Nappanee, Ind. — Funeral services were conducted at the North Main Street Mennonite church here April 27 for Miss Mary Magdalene Burkey, 60 who died April 25 at the Osteopathic hospital in South Bend. Death followed a two-week illness of flu and complications.
Miss Burkey, a lifelong resident of the Nappanee community, served as correspondent for several newspapers. For many years she was the Nappanee correspondent for the Mennonite Weekly Review, published at Newton, Kansas.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Burkey. Survivors include one brother, George Burkey of Syracuse, two nieces and one nephews.
