JULIA SCHULTZ MAYESKE
Mrs. Julia Schultz Mayeske, daughter of Tobias and Helena Jantz Schultz, was born on February 26, 1879, in Fuerstendorf, Poland. She was baptized by Johann Shartner and accepted as a member of the First Mennonite Church there.
On Feb. 10, 1904, she was married to John Mayeske with whom she shared life's joys and sorrows for over 55 years.
In 1907 they left Poland to come to the United States, settling in Marion County, Kansas. They lived in various farm locations until they moved to Lehigh in 1956 where they retired.
On March 12, 1916, she became member of the Mennonite Church of Lehigh where she has been a faithful member to the time of her death.
On Sunday, May 31, she suffered a severe heart attack. She was later taken to the Salem Hospital in Hillsboro where she passed away Saturday morning, June 13, at 6:45, having reached the age of 80 years, three months and 18 days.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, John; two sisters, Agnes, Mrs. Dietrich Klassen of Hillsboro and Marie, Mrs. Bernard Ratzlaff of Montezuma, Kansas; one sister-in-law, Mrs. George Mayeske of Fredonia; nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
