Mrs. Martha Ellen Bixler, 70, who lived four and one-half miles northeast of Wakarusa, Ind., died Saturday evening, Aug. 9, in her home following an illness of heart trouble.

She was born in Olive township Aug. 27, 1887, the daughter of William and Mary (Parcell) Butler [''sic'' Beutler]. She was married to Fred Bixler Feb. 19, 1910, and was a member of the Olive Mennonite Church.

The husband survives with four daughters, Mrs. John Leichty of Wakarusa, Mrs. Levon Weldy of Goshen, R. 3, Mrs. Raymond Tyson of Wakarusa, and Mrs. Roy Shantz of Goshen, R. 3; a foster son, Jay Smeltzer Bixler at home; and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Aug. 12 at the Olive Mennonite Church. Bishop John C. Wenger of Goshen and Rev. Elno Steiner, pastor of the church, officiated. burial was made in Olive Cemetery.

MRS. FRED BIXLER

Mrs. Martha Ellen Bixler, 70, who lived four and one-half miles northeast of Wakarusa, Ind., died Saturday evening, Aug. 9, in her home following an illness of heart trouble.

She was born in Olive township Aug. 27, 1887, the daughter of William and Mary (Parcell) Butler [sic Beutler]. She was married to Fred Bixler Feb. 19, 1910, and was a member of the Olive Mennonite Church.

The husband survives with four daughters, Mrs. John Leichty of Wakarusa, Mrs. Levon Weldy of Goshen, R. 3, Mrs. Raymond Tyson of Wakarusa, and Mrs. Roy Shantz of Goshen, R. 3; a foster son, Jay Smeltzer Bixler at home; and 14 grandchildren.
