MRS. MARGARETE DRIEDIGER

It pleased the Lord to take Margarete Driediger to himself June 3. She was born to Peter and Maria (nee Dyck) Koehn December 9, 1887 in Alexandcdeld, Caucasus, Russia, as their ninth child. There she spent her childhood, found her Lord and Saviour, and was baptized and accepted into the Mennonite Church in 1908.

It was there that she married Franz Driediger in May, 1912. Five children were born to them, of whom Melita and Hella passed away in early childhood, and Franz and Peter never returned from World War II. Short and troubled were the years of married life: soon after her husband returned home from the medical corps in World War I in 1919 he caught typhoid fever and died.

In 1942 they were evacuated to Germany. She spent some years in the Mennonite Home for the Aged in Enkenbach, Germany, from where she was permitted to join her daughter in Winnipeg in 1956.

She joined the Winnipeg Central MB Church. Because of her poor health and hearing she lived quietly in seclusion, although she hardly ever complained. She found comfort in the rich treasury of God's Word, and faithfully interceded for her family before the Throne of Grace. She longed to see her Lord and be reunited with her loved ones.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her daughter, Mrs. Margarete Ganza, and son-in-law, Walter Ganza; one brother, Johann Koehn, in Russia, and many relatives and friends. Her husband, four children, six brothers and four sisters predeceased her.
