At the age of fifteen years she came to Henderson with her parents. She was baptized on June 29, 1884, upon her confession of faith, Elder William Ewert of Kansas being the officiating minister.
The following year she was married to Heinrich Abrahams and this union lasted 65 years and 29 days.
God blessed this home with three children: Marie (Mrs. John Dick), Henry J. and Katie (Mrs. B. A. Friesen).
At the time of Mother Abrahams death there were seven grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren living. Three grandchildren have passed away. A son-in-law, P. K. Friesen, passed away in 1916.
In 1896 the couple moved to Butterfield, Minn. Two years later they moved to North Dakota, near the place where Munich now stands. This was pioneer life and it was difficult.
In 1908 they moved back to Nebraska, living first on a farm but later in Henderson itself for 45 years.
Her husband passed away in 1950. Mother Abrahams continued on in her quiet, cheerful way for another eight years. During the last year she was up and around but seldom out of the house. During the last two weeks she was not well but it was not until Saturday a week ago that she took to her bed, gradually growing weaker but always uncomplaining.
Those who belong to her immediate family are two sisters, Mrs. J. J. Penner of Henderson and Mrs. W. H. Rempel of Willowbrook, Calif.; two brothers, Isaac Janzen of Dallas, Oregon and Frank Janzen of Delavan, Wis.; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Maria Janzen of Lushton, Neb. — The Family.
