PETER H. REGEHR
Peter H . Regehr was born to Henry and Helena Regehr in 1883 at Prangenau, South Russia. He married Anna Reimer in 1908, and God gave them 4 sons and 3 daughters.
Peter was baptized in Memrik and joined the Mennonite Evangelical Alliance Church. He taught in the Russian public school system, but as training children in the Christian faith became more difficult, the family came to Canada in 1927. They settled on a farm near Coaldale, Alberta.
Mr. Regehr always considered it a special privilege to have been able to move his family to this land of religious freedom, peace and security. He was community minded and served his church and the Mennonite settlement in different capacities.
When he was restricted to his home, Peter enjoyed the public address system which enabled him to participate in the church services. He died on his 90th birthday, May 7, 1973, due to a heart ailment.
Funeral services were held on May 10 in the Coaldale M.B. Church with Rev. Henry Kornelsen officiating. He is survived by his wife, Anna, 4 sons, 3 daughters, their respective families and one sister, Mrs. Katherina Giesbrecht.
