— Funeral services were held at the Mennonite Brethren church, Hillsboro, Wednesday forenoon for John D. Hiebert, 80, who passed away at his home in Hillsboro early Sunday morning. He farmed north of Newton for a number of years, and numerous relatives live in this vicinity. Survivors include his wife, two sons and five daughters, two sisters living in California, and a brother at Trinidad, Wash. (Mrs. Henry F. Unruh of Newton is a niece.) | |||

Hillsboro, Kans. — Funeral services for John D. Hiebert, pioneer Mennonite settler, took place July 2 at the Mennonite Brethren church here. He passed away at home in Hillsboro on June 29 at the age of 83. | |||
Born in Russia in 1869, he came to this country in 1879 and settled on a farm in the Goessel community. Fifty-six years ago he was married to Susanna Schroeder, who survives him. They moved to Hillsboro about 28 years ago, and he was active in the local church and as a member of the Tabor College board. | |||
Also surviving are five daughters and two sons. | |||

— Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Willms attended the funeral of the 83- year-old John D. Hiebert Wednesday morning, July 2, at the Hillsboro M. B. church. The services were in charge of Rev. Wald Hiebert, pastor of the church and Dr. P. R. Lange, Bible teacher at Tabor College. Mr. and Mr. Hiebert were pioneer settlers at Goessel but moved to Hillsboro in 1926, where they also commemorated their golden wedding six years ago. The aged Mrs. Hiebert and seven children survive. | |||
