HELENE KLASSEN

Mrs. Helena Klassen (nee Schellenberg) of Virgil, Ontario, was born in Neu Rosengart, Alt Kolonie, Russia, in 1899, and died of cancer on January 12, 1973.

She was married in 1920 to Gerhard Klassen, and their marriage was blessed with 8 children. Two daughters died in infancy, and one son was declared missing in WWII. They fled from Russia through Poland and Germany and arrived in Virgil in 1948.

A year ago she underwent surgery for cancer, but during her ensuing illness she spent much time in prayer and was an encouragement to the pastor and others, Left to mourn are her husband Gerhard, one son, John, four daughters, and 17 grandchildren.
