DAVID HENRY REDEKOPP

David Henry Redekopp, son of Heinrich and Helena Redekopp was born February 25 1886 in South Russia where he also spent his boyhood days. In 1903, he together with his parents, seven sisters, two brothers came to Canada, settling in the Altona, Manitoba district, and later moved to Winkler. He was baptized and received into the M. B. Church at the age of 19.

On December 19, 1912, he entered into marriage with Elizabeth (Epp, Wiebe) Toews. This union was blessed with six sons. They moved to the Kelstern district where they farmed until retirement. Mr. Redekopp was very active in Sunday school and other church activities. In 1942 they retired to Herbert, Sask., where his wife Elizabeth predeceased him in 1961 .

In May of 1966, he entered the Herbert Senior Citizens home where he enjoyed the fellowship of other Christians. He passed away suddenly on August 15, at the age of 86 years. Rev. Bill Thiessen, assisted by Mr. Henry Voth, officiated at the funeral service.

He is survived by his sons and grandchildren; 1 brother Diedrich of Chilliwack, B.C.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Frank Brown and Mrs. Barbara Nickel of Herbert Sask .
