RIDE IN TRUCK ON CHRISTMAS DAY ENDS IN FATAL MISHAP
Lynnhaven, Va.— Tragedy struck in the small Amish community at Norfolk on Christmas Day when a truck overturned, killing 13-year-old Elmo Overholt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe M. Overholt. Funeral services were held there the following Tuesday.
After eating Christmas dinner, the Overholt youth and two companion [sic], Jerome Mast and Raymond Yoder, borrowed the pick-up truck of the Yoder boy's father and went for a ride down some farm lanes. They struck a bump and failed to make a corner, the truck turning over twice and pinning the Overholt youth underneath.
