Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Sawatzky were held on December 30 in the MB Church at Laird, Saskatchewan, Rev. Rudy Heidebrecht officiating. She passed away at the age of 87 years. Born in Gretna, Manitoba, in 1883, she was married to Frank Sawatzky in 1903, and came to reside west of Laird. Her husband met with an accidental death, and one child predeceased her. In 1907 she was united in marriage to Peter F. Sawatzky, brother of her first husband, and this union was blessed with 14 children. Her second husband and four children also predeceased her.
