REV. HERBERT TIESSEN

Rev. Herbert Tiessen, formerly of Abbotsford, passed away suddenly on March 30 in Oatacamund, Nilgiris, India, in his 45th year. He had served as a missionary with the International Missions for 14 years. He is survived by his wife Eileen; one daughter Charlene and two sons Daryl and Douglas, in India. He is also survived by his father Henry D. Tiessen of 2888 Royal Street, Clearbrook; four brothers, Fred of Toronto, Gordon of Kamloops, George of Surrey and Donald of Clearbrook; two sisters Mrs. P.G. (Anne) Reimer of Kansas City . and Nettie of Bananier, Guadelaupe, French West Indies. He was predeceased by his mother, Mrs. Mary Tiessen, in 1967. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 31 in India. A memorial service was held on April 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the Clearbrook Mennonite Brethren Church.
