CAROL MAE FOSTEY

(Mrs.) Carol Mae Fostey (nee Voth), 22, died on December 15, 1968, as a result of injuries received in a car accident more than in a year earlier.

Carol Mae Fostey was born on December 5, 1946 at Herbert, Sask., to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voth. Most of her elementary and secondary school education was taken at Herbert. She attended the Bethany Bible Institute at Hepburn, Sask., and then trained as an operating room technician at the Winnipeg General Hospital.

She was married to Blane Fostey of Winnipeg on August 26, 1967. After six weeks of marriage she came to visit her parents at Herbert. On her return to Winnipeg the taxi in which she was riding was involved in an accident and as result she sustained injuries from which she died more than a year later.

She accepted Christ as her Saviour early in life and rededicated her life at 14 years. Though she experienced conflicts in life her parents have the assurance that she is with her Lord now.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Blane, of Winnipeg; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voth of Herbert; two brothers, Vernon of Minneapolis and Gordon of Regina; and one sister, Myrna, Mrs. Ken Goertzen, of Regina, and many other relatives and friends.

The above has been our experience during the last 14 months. The Lord has led us into and through difficult times, but our testimony comes from a heart of gratefulness and not bitterness. We could relate a number of experiences in which we realized again and again the presence of the Lord. To the glory of God we want to relate a few. These refer to Sunday, December 15, the day the Lord called Carol home.

I had promised Rev. Voth, the pastor of the Herbert Church, to bring the message on Sunday, December 22. The Wednesday before December 15 I felt uneasy and asked him to change it to December 15 as I might not be available December 22. The message God gave me was "The Glorious Future of Man because of Christ." My thoughts were with Carol and her future as I prepared this message. I did not realize that God would call her home that Sunday. The same day our daughter in Regina said she had specifically prayed, "Lord, take Carol home." Also on the same day, our son in Minneapolis, while attending Sunday school, said that when time was given for special prayer requests, he had asked that they pray for his parents in a special way. He didn't know why just then. These experiences are all clear to us now and comfort us with the assurance that God's presence was with Carol and with us and that he has called her home to be with him. This makes us grateful and thankful.

We want to express our gratefulness and appreciation to all our friends across Canada for their sympathy, shared with us through cards, letters telephone calls and intercessory prayers. They have all helped to sustain us in our faith. May God reward you in your kindness and love. Also a 'thank-you' to those who visited Carol and sang for her in the hospital.
