Aged Berne Resident Leaves Large Family
Berne, Ind. — Mrs. Ellen Nussbaum, 78, a lifelong resident of this community, was laid to rest following services at the First Mennonite chrurch [sic] here on Dec. 28, conducted by Rev. Otto E. Krehbiel. She died at her home on Christmas day after a long illness.
Mrs. Nussbaum, whose husband John Nussbaum, died in 1910, raised a family of 14 children, of whom 13 survive. A daughter died at the age of two, and a son Wesley died in 1927. Also surviving are 55 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren, making a total of 102 descendants.
