ANNA PAULS
Mrs. Anna Pauls was born on February 4, 1899, in the Ukraine. She became a Christian in her early youth and was baptized and accepted as a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church at the age of 17.
She was privileged to study under the tutelage of Dr. A. H. Unruh for a period of eight years. She was united in marriage to H. D. Pauls on May 9, 1921 and shared joys and sorrows with him for nearly 46 years. Together they came to Canada early in 1924 and lived successively in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Abbotsford, B.C. The marriage was blessed with four sons, six daughters and twenty-three grandchildren. A tractor accident in 1953 resulted in the death of two sons, Dan aged 17 and Jake aged 15 years. A son-in-law, Aron Ewert, passed away in 1957.
Her life was characterized by simplicity, devotion, and total dedication to God and her family. She welcomed death and rejoiced to meet her Lord.
Left to mourn are her husband. H. D. Pauls, two sons, Henry and family, and Victor; six daughters, Lydia (Mrs. H. P. Reimer), Anne (Mrs. J. P. Dirksen), Mrs. Lory Ewert; Lena (Mrs. P. H. Dueck), Elsie (Mrs. A. D. Peters) and Winnie, (Mrs. J. W. Dueck) and their families; one sister Mrs. A. P. Dyck (Katie), Winkler, Manitoba and two brothers in Russia.
