&#8212;  A large number of people gathered at the Alexanderwohl church north of Newton Monday afternoon for funeral services held for John Schmidt, a young man 24 or 25 years of age, who was found dead in the barn on his father’s farm, one-half mile east of Goessel, Friday morning.  The deceased is survived by his parents, several brothers and sisters, and a number o more distant relatives.  Since the Alexanderwohl church is now undergoing repairs, the services were held in a large tent erected on the grounds near the church.
