Services Held For Three Who Died In Car Accident
BLUFFTON COLLEGE LIBRARIAN ONE OF VICTIMS
Bluffton, Ohio. — Combined services were held at the First Mennonite church on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 2, for the three women who lost their lives in an auto accident near here on Sept 29. The officiating ministers were Rev. J. N. Smucker. Dr. Lloyd Ramseyer, and Rev. E. J. Bohn.
Mrs. Lenore Myers, 53, Blufton [sic Bluffton] college libarian [sic], her mother, Mrs. George (Belle) Miller, 88, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. George Myers, 25, were killed when their car collided with a semi-trailer truck driven by Wilford W. Henry of Leipsic at an intersection. A cornfield obscured the view of the drivers,
Mrs. Myers leaves two sons, Addison, a college sophomore, and George, whose wife, the former Eleanor Keeney, also died in the accident. They have three children ranging in age from nine months to four years.
After graduation from Bluffton college in 1919. Mrs. Myers married and she and her husband taught school for one year before taking graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania. While raising a family she received her A. M. degree there in 1923 and took other graduate work at Columbia University in 1924.
After the death of her husband. Aaron, about 12 years ago, she and her two children came to Bluffton and she taught English at Bluffton college from 1938 - 41. She returned as librarian in 1945.
