Percy J. Miller, son of Josiah and Magadalena [''sic'' Magdalena] Miller, was born on Sept 17, 1897, in LaGrange County, Indiana, and passed away Nov. 18, 1972 at the Greencroft Nursing Center, Goshen, where he had been a patient for four weeks. | |||
He served in the ministry of the Shore Mennonite Church for 35 years, retiring about 10 years ago because of failing health caused by Parkinson’s Disease. He was also secretary of the Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Mission Board for 13 and a half years and served as instructor at a number of winter Bible schools in the Indiana-Michigan area. He was the kind of person many youth looked to for guidance. | |||
On Feb. 1, 1920 he married Artie Yoder, who survives along with three children, Mrs. Ernest (Anna Grayce) Hooley and Paul J., both, of Shipshewana, and Mrs. John (Ruby) Eberly of Blountstown, [''sic'' unreadable Fla.?], 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Irwin J. of Shipshewana; four sisters, Mrs. Orpha Nelson and Mrs. Perry (Alta) Berkey of Shipshewana, Mrs. Clara Berkey of LaGrange, and Mrs. Samuel (Rachel) Miller of Goshen; and one uncle, Elmer J. Miller, La-Grange. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Loren Hooley, and one sister, Mable Lambright. | |||

Goshen, Ind. — Funeral services for Rev. Percy J. Miller, 75, were held Nov. 21 at the Shore Mennonite church near Shipshewana where he had served in the ministry for about 35 years.
Rev. Miller died Nov. 18 at the Greencroft Nursing Center in Goshen. He had been a patient there for about four weeks.
A resident of the Shipshewana community all his life, he was ordained to the ministry in 1927.
