J. L. WALL

J. L. Wall was born near Moundridge on Nov. 27, 1875, to John and Elizabeth Lohrentz Wall.

Jacob Wall had the privilege an elementary education and grew to manhood in the Moundridge community where he spent his entire life as a farmer. He was baptized on confession of his faith in Christ to membership in the Hebron Mennonite church of Buhler on August 12, 1906, by Rev. A. M. Martens.

On July 19, 1908, Jacob Wall and Elizabeth Neufeld were united in marriage in her parent's home near Moundridge and lived in married union for almost 47 years. four children were born to this union: John, Arnold, Sarah (who died in infancy), and Raymound {sic Raymond].

Mr. Wall fell ill about one year ago and his health had declinded [sic] steadily since that time. While at the Bethel Deaconess hospital in Newton, Kansas, on March 16, 1955, at 9:50 in the evening, the struggele [sic] and pain of this life ceased and his soul passed into the hand of his God and Father. He reached the age of 79 years, three months and 17 days.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Pete: three sisters, Anna, Margret, and Elizabeth; and their baby daughter, Sarah. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Elizabeth; their three sons and wives, Mr. and Mrs. Aronld [sic Arnold] Wall of Mount Hope and Mr. and Mrs. Raymound [sic Raymond] Wall and son, Jerald, age two and the only grandchild, of Moundridge; two sisters, Mrs. Katy Wall Braeul [sic Brauel] of Buhler and Mrs. Marie Wall Neufeld of Newton; one brother, Cornelius L. Wall of Burrton; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were conducted on Saturday afternoon, March 19, at 2:30 o'clock in the Hebron Mennonite church of Buhler where he was a member. His pastor, Rev. O'Ray C. Graber, was in charge and he was assisted by Rev. George Lohrenz of Hillsboro, Kansas. A short prayer service in the home preceding the church service was conducted by Rev. LeRoy McReynolds of Mt. Hope, a friend of the family. Mrs. Henry Franz, Mrs. Ed. L. Regier, Henry Franz and Pete Franz sang. They were accompanied by Mrs. Albert Pauls.

He was laid to rest in the family lot in the Hebron Church cemetery with the directors of the Kaufman Funeral Home of Halstead in charge of funeral arrangements.
