WILLED $10,000 TO BETHEL COLLEGE.

Coming to America at the age of eight years with her parents from Eichstock, Bavaria (Germany), in 1852, Mrs. Katherine M. Krehbiel of Halstead, Kansas, in her will left a third of her estate to Bethel College. The gift consisting of land and securities, is today valued at $10,000 and recently became the property of Bethel College on the death of the benefactress's surviving daughter, Ruth Krehbiel, who had a life interest in the estate.

Mrs. Krehbiel, a Kansas pioneer-woman, came to Halstead, Kansas, in 1879 from Summerfield, Illinois, following the death of her husband, John Krehbiel, while he was on a land-seeking trip. She died in 1923 at the age of 77 years, a few years after writing the will bequeathing her estate in equal parts to Bethel College, Bethel Deaconess hospital, Newton, and Mennonite foreign missions.
