•  Ronald Kim Nickel, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nickel of the Goessel community, died Feb. 8 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital.  A seventh grade student at the Goessel Grade School, he had been ill for some weeks with leukemia.  Survivors in addition to the parents include a brother, Bradley, and sisters Jonene and Lori of the home, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Nickel of Hillsboro and Mrs. Ervin Dyck of rural Walton.  The funeral was conducted Saturday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl Church with Rev Aaron Epp officiating.
