Larned, Kan. — Paul C. Stucky, 27, a sixth grade teacher at the Phinney School here until the first part of this year, died Oct. 22 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. | |||
A native of the Pretty Prairie community, Mr. Stucky came here in 1966 following graduation from Sterling College. Each year from 1967 to 1970 he and his family built scores of wooden tractors and pull toys, which were taken to Hutchinson for distribution by the Big Brothers Club at Christmastime. In spite of his illness, he had started on a dozen tractors to be given away this Christmas. | |||
Survivors include his widow, the former Joycelyn M. Entz of Hydro, Okla.; a son, Samuel J., and daughter, Lena Jean; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman L. Stucky, and grandmother, Sam J. Stucky, all of Pretty Prairie; and a brother, Allen, serving with the Naval Reserve in the Far East. | |||

born Jan. 12, 1944, at Kingman, Kan., he grew up in the pretty Prairie community and graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1962. He came to Larned after graduating from Sterling college in 1966.
From 1967 to 1970 Mr. Stucky with the help of his family built scores of wooden tractors and pull toys. he gave them to the Big Brothers Club in Hutchinson for distribution to needy children at Christmastime. Despite his illness, he also stared on a dozen tractors for distribution this yule season.
He was received as a member of the First Mennonite Church of Pretty Prairie upon his confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in June 1960 by Rev. Elmer R. Friesen.
He married Joycelyn M. Entz Ewy on May 28, 1967 at Pawnee Rock, Kan.
Survivors include his widow, a son, Samuel J.; a daughter, Lena Jean; his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Herman L. Stucky and a grandmother, Mrs. Sam J. Stucky, all of Pretty Prairie; mother-in-law, Mrs. Hilda Entz of Hydro, Okla.; and a brother, Allen, who is serving with the Naval Reserve in the Far East.
A memorial service was held at the Bergthal Mennonite Church north of Pawnee Rock Monday evening, Oct. 22, with Rev. Gerhard Peters officiating.
