ELIZABETH UNRUH SCHULTZ
Elizabeth Unruh Schultz was born on a farm six miles north and a half mile east of Moundridge, Kan. on Feb. 26, 1878 and passed away quietly in her sleep about midnight Monday, July 6, attaining the age of 81 years, four months and 23 days. She had been in failing health for several years and was bedfast for the past year.
She was baptized upon her confession of faith i 1897 at the Emmanuel Mennonite church near Moundridge by Rev. Peter Balzer. At the time of her death she was a member of the Bergthal Mennonite church, Pawnee Rock, Kan.
On Feb. 13, 1898 she was united in marriage to Samuel C. Schultz. To this union were born two sons, Edward and Lincoln, Downey, Calif.; and four daughters, Lena, Mrs. Otis Unruh, Pawnee Rock; Clara of the home, Ella, Mrs. Harvey Dirks, Pawnee Rock, and Anna, who died in infancy. Her husband Samuel passed away Jan. 4, 1939.
Other survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Susie Schultz, Pawnee Rock; Mrs. Lena Heer, Mrs. Anna Koehn and Mary Rudiger, all of Galva; and Mrs. Carrie Nichols, Newton; three brothers, Obed Rudiger, Greensburg; Frank Rudiger, Galva; and Joe Rudiger, Canton. Two brothers preceded her in death.
There are also ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. One grandchild precede her in death.
