• Rev. Willard Koontz, 49, of Haysville, Kan. and formerly of Newton, suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on the morning of Feb. 9 and died that evening in a Wichita hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the United Methodist Church in Haysville. Rev. Koontz, a Bible salesman, was married here in 1963 to Esther Rose. Survivors include his widow and a stepson, Dale Rose, of the home; two daughters and two step-daughters; his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Clyde Koontz, and a brother, Rev. Elbert Koontz, all of Newton.
