MRS. N. B. KLAASSEN

It pleased our Heavenly Father to take my wife and our mother to Himself on the 12th day of May, 1958. She attained the age of 67 years, four months and four days.

Mrs. N. B. Klaassen, nee Alvina Unruh, was born on a farm near Marion, S. D., Jan. 8, 1891, the daughter of Cornelius and Laura Gloeckler Unruh. Here she spent the early years of her life.

Having been brought up in a Christian home she realized the need of a Savior in her youth and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Redeemer. On August 5, 1917, she was baptized on the confession of her faith and received into the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren church of Mountain Lake, Minn. Of this church she remained a faithful member to the end.

Having heard of the Bible school in Mountain Lake, she came to attend classes in the fall of 1913 and studied for one winter. It was during this time on April12, 1914, that she was joined in holy matrimony to N. B. Klaassen. Two daughters joined this union, Adeline and Laura. For the first two years of our married life we lived on a farm and then moved to Mountain Lake. Here we spent the rest of our life together.

Though not of robust health, she was a hard worker, especially so if through her efforts others could be benefited. Hospitality was one of her strong traits. She also loved flowers and music. Many a happy hour have we spent as a family together. Mother's strong faith in the Lord and her sense of humor helped her in many a difficult situation in life, and stayed with her to the end.

In May 1957 she developed a heart condition which resulted in a number of strokes. This together with other complications brought about her death. She quietly slipped away at 3:00 a.m. May 12.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband; two daughters, Adeline (Mrs. Leando Klassen) of Mt. Lake, and Laura (Mrs. Orlando Wiebe) of Omaha, Neb., one son-in-law, Rev. Orlando Wiebe of Omaha, Neb; seven grandchildren, one brother, and three sisters-in-law.

Our sentiment as a family is well expressed in two of mother's favorite songs: “Yes, All Together We Would Like to Go”, “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” and “Shall There Be any Stars in My Crown.” Her concern for stars in her crown shall also be our concern. — The Bereaved Family.
