Oscar William miller, son of Jonathan K. and Otilla B. (Martin) Miller, was born Dec. 11, 1899 near Garden City, Mo., died in Memorial hospital at Harrisonville, Mo. Oct. 8, 1961, age 61 years, 10 months, 26 days.  He had suffered with a heart condition for several years and the last two weeks his condition became critical.
 
On Jan. 2, 1921, he was married to Sadie Kauffman who survives with one daughter, Doris, Mrs. Bailey Thompson of San Bernardino, Calif., one sister, Nettie, Mrs. Edward Kropf of Eureka, Ill., and one brother Alvin of Lees Summit, Mo.  His parents and one brother Simon preceded him in death.
 
He spent most of his life in and around Garden City, Mo. and his later years in Harrisonville, Mo. where he was in business but had to retire because of ill health.
 
He was convicted of sin in early life and became a member of the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church.  When he moved to Harrisonville he transferred his membership to the Methodist Church where he was active as Sunday school superintendent and teacher and was much interested in youth fellowship and other church activities.  He was always interested in civic affairs which were for the bette4rment of the community.
 
The funeral was held at the Harrisonville Methodist Church Oct. 10.  The pastor, J. O. Craig, was in charge and used the text, Jno. 14:1-3, which the deceased had chosen.

OSCAR W. MILLER
