• Frank F. Matthies, 83, long-time resident of the Buhler community who moved to Newton 11 years ago, died Sunday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital after a long illness. He was a member of the Bethel College Mennonite Church, where the funeral services were conducted Tuesday forenoon by Rev. Russell L. Mast. Born in the Ukraine in Russia, Mr. Matthies formerly was a school custodian at Buhler. Surviving are his widow, the former Sarah B. Gaeddert, three sons, 11 grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.' | |||
