• Mrs. Henry Nickel, 55, died unexpectedly last Saturday evening at her home north of Newton. She had just been released from the hospital after undergoing surgery and apparently was making a good recovery. The former Anna Hiebert of the Buhler community, she married Mr. Nickel in 1937 and they had lived on a farm in the Goessel area since that time. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Floyd, of Route 2, Newton; three daughters, Mrs. Bert Becker of Route 2, Newton, Mrs. Dennis Schroeder of Goessel, and Mrs. Marvin Regier of rural Walton; eight grandchildren; a brother, Pete Hiebert of Hillsboro; and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Ediger, Mrs. Abe Janzen and Mrs. Art Ediger, all of Hutchinson. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl Church, with Rev. Ronald Krehbiel officiating. | |||

She had just been released from the hospital after undergoing surgery and apparently was making a good recovery.
