— Relatives here received word of the passing on April 10 of Frank P. Penner, 61, formerly of Halstead, at his home in Portland, Oregon. Funeral services were to be held Wednesday at Portland with burial at Pratum, Oregon. He leaves his wife, Elizabeth; a son, Ralph; a sister, Mrs. Gustav Wiebe of newton, and four brothers, Henry J. of Burrton, Walter C. of Halstead, John J. of Newton and Erick E. of Mankato, Kan. | |||

Frank P. Penner was born July 31, 1893, at Halstead, Kansas and passed away in his home in Portland, Oregon on April 10, 1955, reaching the age of 61 years, eight months, and 10 days. | |||
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Baumgartner on Sept. 19, 1917. To this union one son was born. | |||
He was baptized in the Halstead Mennonite church at an early age. He transferred his membership to the Pratum Mennonite church, Pratum, Oregon soon after his marriage. Later when he and his wife moved to Portland the membership was transferred to the Staub Memorial church in Portland where he remained a member until 1942 when the membership was again transferred, this time to the Alberta community Mennonite church in Portland where he remained a member until his death. | |||
Mr. Penner was a barber by profession and was secretary and treasurer for the Master Barbers of Oregon for about 30 years. He also was a member of the Lions' Club, Mantle Club, and Business Executives Club. | |||
Mr. Penner had been ill for eight months and was hospitalized for quite a while last fall. He had been up and about since but not able to do much work. His health continued to fail and he was bedridden the last week in his home. | |||
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one son, Major Ralph S. Penner, presently stationed at Oak Ridge, Tenn. There are two grandchildren, Paul and Janet Sue Penner. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Ella Wiebe of Newton, Kansas; four brothers, Henry of Burrton, Kansas, John of Newton, Kansas; Will of Halstead, Kansas, and Erich of Mankato, Kansas. | |||
Funeral services were conducted in the Chapel of Holman & sons Mortuary in Portland, Oregon at 11:30 a.m. on April 13, 1955. Burial was made in the Patrum [''sic'' Pratum] Mennonite cemetery, Pratum, Oregon. | |||
Services were in charge of Rev. Albrecht. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. A. E. Zook, Mrs. Harry Albrecht, Ferd Wiens, and Edward Leisy. | |||

FRANK P. PENNER
Frank P. Penner was born July 31, 1893, at Halstead, Kansas and passed away in his home in Portland, Oregon on April 10, 1955, reaching the age of 61 years, eight months, and 10 days.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Baumgartner on Sept. 19, 1917. To this union one son was born.
