Freeman, S. D. — A two-car collision at a highway intersection north of here Nov. 11 claimed the lives of an elderly Dolton resident and a three-week old baby of Sioux Falls.
Funeral services for Joe A. Hofer, 76, who died instantly in the crash, were held Nov. 14 at the E.M.B. Church at Marion. Services for Jason Jon Adrian, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Adrian, were held Nov. 15 at the Good Shepherd Mennonite Church, Sioux Falls. The baby died in a Sioux Falls hospital some hours after the accident.
Mrs. Jerry Adrian, driver of one car involved, suffered a serious head injury but is reported improving at Sioux Valley Hospital. Two Adrian daughters — Sheila, 6, and Shawn, two and a half -- had only minor injuries.
Barbara Hofer, driver of the other car and daughter of Mr. Hofer, was seriously hurt and was admitted to the Freeman Hospital.
