Early-Day Ransom, Kan. Settler Dies at Age 90
Ransom, Kan. — Mrs. Emma Rose Rufenacht, 90, an early-day settler in this western Kansas community, died Aug. 18 at St. Anthony Hospital in Hays where she was being treated for a broken hip and arm suffered several days earlier.
A native of Bloomington, Ill., she had lived in this area most of her life.
Survivors include one son, six daughters, two half-sisters, one half-brother, 34 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren.
