Polio Claims Life Of Young Father

Shipshewana, Ind. — Gideon Hochstetler, 26, father of one and a member of the Old Order Amish church, died at his home near here Nov. 10 after a year's illness of polio. Funeral services were conducted at the William Schmucker home by Bishop Ervin Bontrager and Pre. Rudy Hershberger.

The young father was a life-long resident of this community. He leaves his widow, the former Mary Lehman of Topeka; one daughter; the parents, Jacob Hochstetlers, two brothers and two sisters; and a step-grandmother, Mrs. Susana Hochstetler of Curtis, Wis.
