Funeral services were held May 14 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel with Dennis Schmidt and Milton Harder officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She was a native of Corn, Okla., and a homemaker. She had lived in Goessel since 1979, moving from Hillsboro. Survivors include two sons, Orlando Schmidt of rural Hillsboro and Roland Schmidt of Topeka; one daughter, Esther Fleming of Goessel; four stepsons, Menno Hiebert and Paul Hiebert, both of Goessel, Otto Hiebert of Newton and Levi Hiebert of Wichita; two stepdaughters, Lena Hiebert of Goessel and Elizabeth Frey of Newton; two sisters, Anna Harms of Newton and Katie Penner of Hillsboro; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and numerous stepgrandchildren. Her first husband, Henry H. Schmidt, died in 1946. In 1947 she married Henry G. Hiebert.
