Warman, Sask. — Relatives were notified of a tragic drowning accident in Nigeria, Africa which claimed the life of Missionary Arthur L. Goossen and his 13-year-old son, Melvin. | |||
According to a letter from Mr. Goossen's wife, they were visiting their son at a school for missionaries' children when the fatal mishap occurred. They had gone on an outing at a stream with some of Melvin's companions, the boys entering the water before the parents reached the spot. Melvin was swept away by the current, and his father drowned trying to save him. | |||
The Goossens were in their third term of service in Nigeria under the Sudan Interior Mission. | |||

Father and Son Drowned in Africa
Warman, Sask. — Relatives were notified of a tragic drowning accident in Nigeria, Africa which claimed the life of Missionary Arthur L. Goossen and his 13-year-old son, Melvin.
According to a letter from Mr. Goossen's wife, they were visiting their son at a school for missionaries' children when the fatal mishap occurred.
