Son of Rev. David Goerz Called by Death in California
Relatives in Newton have received word of the death of Orlando D. Goerz, 71, which occurred March 7 at LaCrescenta, Calif. He was a son of the late Rev. David Goerz, one of the foudners of Bethel College and of the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton.
For many years Orlando Goerz was associated with Barker Bros. Furniture Co. in Los Angeles and later headed his own loan business. He had spent the last five years in retirement due to ill health.
Survivors include his wife, Celia Krehbiel Goerz; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Rhoda) Searles and granddaughter, Wendy, all of LaCrescenta; a sister, Mrs. Emma Kaufman of North Newton; one brother, Willard, of Somerset, Calif.; and a brother-in-law, Nelson Krehbiel of Moundridge.
Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Those living in this area are Kathryn Kaufman and Wanda Isaac Tieszen, North Newton; Harold Goerz and Helen Krehbiel Lemon of Newton; and Frances Goerz Garrison of Wichita.
