Samuel Schrock, 77, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 1962, at the Brokaw Nursing home in Normal, Ill., where he had been a patient for two months, following a long illness. The funeral was held Friday, Dec. 28, at the Meadows Mennonite Church with Rev. L. E. Troyer officiating. Burial was made at Chenoa Cemetery. | |||
He was born June 18, 1885, in Stuttgart, Ark., a son of Peter and Katherine Roszhart Schrock. He was married to Amelia Lehman Roszhart on Feb. 27, 1923 in Meadows, Ill. He was a carpenter in the Gridley and Meadows, Ill. area for 35 years. | |||
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Alice, Mrs. Vernon Miller of Lexington, Ill., and Martha, Mrs. Don Smith of Chenoa, Ill.; a step-son, Rev. Herbert R. Roszhart of Aurora, Nebr.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Jerold Rocke of Flanagan, Ill.; two brothers, Joseph C. Schrock of Ontario, Calif. and Daniel Schrock of Kalona, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Guengerich of South Gate, Calif., Mrs. Mary Ann Hochstetler of Wellman, Iowa, and Miss Katherine G. Schrock of Iowa City, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandsons. Two brothers preceded him in death. | |||
