•  Peter Friesen, 72, retired postal worker of Dodge City, Kan. and a native of Marion County, died at a Dodge City hospital on Feb. 23.  Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church of Dodge City.  Mr. Friesen farmed near Buhler and Great Bend before moving to Dodge City in 1925.  He is survived by his widow, Katie; one daughter and two sons; four brothers Rev. Karl Friesen of Newton, Henry of Buhler, Adolph of Goshen, Ind. and C. B. of Hesston; one sister, Mrs. Jake Froese of Buhler; and nine grandchildren.

Peter Friesen, 72, died late Friday night, Feb. 23, at Trinity hospital in Dodge City, Kan.  He had been in the hospital since Dec. 21, 1961, but had been in poor heath for several years.       
 
He was born Jan. 22, 1890, in Marion County, and grew up there.  He entered the army in July, 1918, and returned to a farm near Buhler in September, 1919, after his discharge.   
 
On Jan. 16, 1921, he married Katie Werhahn at Great Bend, and they settled on a farm near there.  They moved to Dodge City in 1925, where Mr. Friesen began work with the Post Office.  He was with the Post Office there until his retirement in 1957. 
 
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dodge City.  He had served as an elder of the church for several years.  He was also a member of the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans.   
 
Survivors include the widow, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Tunnell, Fort Collins, Colo.;  two sons, Kenneth and Noble, both of Dodge City; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Karl, Newton; Henry, Buhler; Adolph, Goshen, Ind., and C. B., Hesston; a sister, Mrs. Jake Froese, Buhler. 
 
Funeral was held Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the First Presbyterian Church, Dodge City, Rev. David P. Birch officiating.  Burial was in the Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City.
