• Mrs. Helen Schmidt, 84, a resident at the Bethesda Home at Goessel, died Aug. 17 at the Bethesda Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday forenoon at the Goessel Mennonite Church, in charge of Rev. Henry Goossen. The former Helen Schroeder, Mrs. Schmidt married Karl Schmidt in 1915 and they farmed in McPherson and Marion counties. He died in 1973. Surviving are two sons, Ormand D. of rural Canton and Roy O. of Route 2, Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Marlin Krehbiel of Lakin; one brother, Herman Schroeder of Newton; five sisters, Mrs. P. C. Richert and Mrs. H. B. Unrau, both of Goessel, Mrs. Charles Voth of Garden City, Mrs. P. A. Voth of rural Canton, and Mrs. Theodore Dirksen of rural Moundridge; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. | |||

• Mrs. Helen Schmidt, 84, a resident at the Bethesda Home at Goessel, died Aug. 17 at the Bethesda Hospital.
