— Funeral services will be held Thursday forenoon at the Clearwater Methodist church for Edward R. Schmidt, 48, who died at his home in Clearwater Tuesday morning.  Further services are scheduled for 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the Draper funeral chapel Newton. Mr. Schmidt lived in Newton for a number of years, going to Clearwater six years ago where he was owner and operator of a feed store. He had only recently disposed of the business. Surviving him are his wife Helen and a daughter Frances of the home; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Peters of Hesston: six brothers and one sister, Lydia Smith of Portland, Ore.
