Mrs. Edna Clemens Schlosser was born on Nov. 3, 1892 at Mainland, Pa. the daughter of Jacob Nice Clemens and Elizabeth Cassel Clemens. | |||
She married Clayton Cassel Schlosser on Sept. 10, 1910. they were baptized in the Mennonite Church the first year of their marriage and were members of the Towamencin Mennonite church until their homegoing. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and also was active in the work of the young people's meeting. | |||
She was gifted in music and loved to play the piano and organ in her younger years. She was also gifted in hospitality. She enjoyed the fellowship of others and had many visitors. | |||
This union was blessed with nine children: Ruth S. Platchek, Douglasville, Pa.; Edna S., wife of Reuben L. Christopher, Harrisonburg, Va.; Mary S., wife of Anthony J. Skrzat, North Wales, Pa.; Jacob C. Souderton, Pa.; Clayton C., Vernfield, Pa.; Paul C. and David C., both of Lederach, Pa. Also surviving are one brother, Norman C. Clemens of Lower Salford Township, 43 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Most of her grandchildren attended her funeral, held at the Eastern Mennonite Home in Souderton, Paw. where she had resided the last seven years. | |||
Preceding her in death were he husband in 1968; three sisters and three brothers; one son, John C.; one daughter, Mrs. Pauline Heilemann, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. | |||
Mother's "coronation day" was on Palm Sunday 1974. | |||
Wayne Kratz officiated at the funeral services. Interment was made at the Towomencin [''sic'' Towamencin] Mennonite Church cemetery with Rev. John Freed officiating. — The family. | |||
