Berne, Ind. — Joe R. Wickey, Sr., 37, died late Saturday, Oct. 8, when he fell from a wagon and was run over by a wheel of the vehicle. | |||
The accident occurred on the Adams county road three miles north and two west of Berne. Wickey suffered a broken neck and crushed chest, and died seconds after the mishap. | |||
Wickey and two sons were using a neighbor's tractor to pull a load of slabwood. As the tractor and wagon rounded a curve, he apparently lost his balance and fell off. | |||
A member of the Old Order Amish, Wickey is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters. Funeral services were held Oct. 10 at the home of his parents. | |||

Berne Farmer Dies In Fall from Wagon
JOE R. WICKEY, 37, FATALLY INJURED WHILE HAULING WOOD
Berne, Ind. — Joe R. Wickey, Sr., 37, died late Saturday, Oct. 8, when he fell from a wagon and was run over by a wheel of the vehicle.
The accident occurred on the Adams county road three miles north and two west of Berne. Wickey suffered a broken neck and crushed chest, and died seconds after the mishap.
