Walter Janzen, 80, of Henderson, Neb., died Sept. 11, 2007. He was born Feb. 18, 1927, to Jacob D. and Helena (Peters) Janzen in rural Henderson.

He was a lifelong farmer in the Henderson area. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends and being with his family. He was a longtime member of Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.

On Oct. 9, 1947, he married Elva Siebert at Henderson.

Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Elva; a son, Royce Janzen and his wife, Carol, of Henderson; a daughter, Rebecca Dolezal and her husband, David, of Lincoln; a daughter-in-law, Pam Janzen of Henderson; a brother, Henry Janzen of Henderson; four sisters, Anna Goertzen, Olga Friesen and Clara Ratzlaff, all of Henderson, and Doris Graber of Pretty Prairie, Kan.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary; a brother and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at Bethesda Mennonite Church. Burial was in the Friesen Cemetery west of Henderson.

WALTER JANZEN

Walter Janzen, 80, of Henderson, Neb., died Sept. 11, 2007. He was born Feb. 18, 1927, to Jacob D. and Helena (Peters) Janzen in rural Henderson.

He was a lifelong farmer in the Henderson area. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends and being with his family. He was a longtime member of Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.

On Oct. 9, 1947, he married Elva Siebert at Henderson.
