• Herman K. Ediger, 72, a resident of this area since 1937, died Jan. 6 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. Services were held Monday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church, with Rev. Arnold Epp in charge. A native of the Buhler community, Mr. Ediger was a retired farmer and in recent years had been employed at Namco Industries here. He leaves his widow, the former Tena Buller, one daughter, three sons, two sisters, one brother, and 13 grandchildren. | |||

Herman K. Ediger, son of Jacob D. and Kathryn Harder Ediger, was born on May 9, 1893 near Buhler, Reno County, Kansas. After a brief illness he was called away in death on Jan. 13, 1966 at the age of 72 years, eight months and four days. | |||
He spent his early life in the Buhler community and received his education in the O. K. School of McPherson County. | |||
On June 20, 1915 he was baptized upon the confession of his faith by Rev. Abraham Ratzlaff and received into the fellowship of the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church. In 1940 he transferred his membership to the First Mennonite Church in Newton where he remained a faithful member till his death. For many years he was a member of the Balcony Men's Sunday School Class. | |||
On Nov. 11, 1916 he was married to Tena Buller. Together they spent their life on the farm until they moved to Newton in 1945. He was employed by various business firms. At the time of his death he was employed by Namco Industries. | |||
Survivors include his wife Tena; one daughter, Selma; and husband Gail Reusser of Walton; three sons, Ernest and wife Margaret of Beaverton, Oregon, Herman Jr. and wife Helen of Newton, and Menno and wife Ruth of Boise, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. J. B. Martens of Buhler and Mrs. Henry Friesen of Newton; and one brother, John of Fort Madison, Iowa. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death. | |||
