+ | Funeral services for Gerhard "George" A. Duerksen, 86, of Goessel, where held Jan. 5 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel, with Dennis Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. A retired farmer, he died Jan. 11 at Bethesda Home, Goessel. He was a member of the church and was active in many church and community organizations. He helped found Crossroads Co-op at Goessel. Survivors include his wife, the former Mathilda Boese; one son, Leroy of Hesston; three daughters, Phyllis Unruh of rural Hillsboro, Cora Ketterman of Prairie Village and Mary Ediger of Kirksville, Mo.; four brothers, Ernest, August and Adolph of Goessel and Alvin of Newton; one sister, Elsie Schmidt of Goessel; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. |

Funeral services for Gerhard "George" A. Duerksen, 86, of Goessel, where held Jan. 5 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel, with Dennis Schmidt officiating.
