• Funeral services for Mrs. Lydia Claassen, 86, were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church, with Dr. Albert Epp and Rev. Robert Suderman of Halstead officiating. Mrs. Claassen died Monday after a long illness. The former Lydia Goertz, she had been a resident of this community since 1908. She married Herman F. Claassen at Marion, S. D. in 1924, and he died in 1934. She was a retired registered nurse and former deaconess at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, and was a member of the nurses alumnae association. Surviving are a son, Gene S. and a daughter, Anna Rebecca Claassen, both of the home; and two sisters, Miss Helen Goertz of Marion S. D. and Mrs. Martha Hill of Seattle, Wash.
